The Asian Countries Chamber of Hospitality Industry (ACOHI) is a world’s first organization that aims to establish a culinary world of unity, business, technology exchange, bilateral relations, peace and brotherhood across Asia and the world. ACOHI has 37 independent boards that work on various aspects of the hospitality industry.

One of the boards is ACOHI Purchase Management & Research Board, which is dedicated to creating and implementing effective solutions for purchase management in the hospitality industry. Purchase management is a vital function that involves planning, sourcing, procuring, storing and distributing goods and services that are required for the operation and maintenance of hotels and restaurants.

The ACOHI Purchase Management & Research Board has a vision and mission to address these functions and make a positive difference for the hospitality industry of India and Asia and the nation as a whole.

THE VISION AND MISSION -

Vision – To create a smart and efficient purchase management system that optimizes quality, quantity, cost and time for the Hospitality industry.

Mission – To develop and promote best practices, standards, technologies, policies and partnerships for purchase management in the hospitality industry that are sustainable, transparent and profitable for the Hospitality industry.

The ACOHI Purchase Management & Research Board has been working on several projects and initiatives to achieve its vision and mission. Some of the projects and initiatives are –

ACOHI Purchase Audit Programme – This programme aims to conduct purchase audits for hotels and restaurants to assess their current purchase practices, policies, procedures and performance and identify areas for improvement and potential savings.

ACOHI Purchase Standardization Programme – This programme aims to provide guidance and support for hotels and restaurants to implement purchase standardization strategies such as bulk buying, centralized purchasing, contract negotiation, vendor selection, etc. that can reduce their purchase costs by up to 50%.

ACOHI Purchase Quality Assurance Programme – This programme aims to provide solutions and technologies for hotels and restaurants to ensure the quality of their purchased goods and services using methods such as quality inspection, testing, certification, traceability, etc. that can enhance their customer satisfaction and loyalty.

ACOHI Purchase Inventory Management Programme – This programme aims to provide solutions and technologies for hotels and restaurants to manage their inventory of purchased goods and services using methods such as inventory control, forecasting, replenishment, storage, etc. that can prevent wastage, theft, spoilage and obsolescence.

ACOHI Purchase Education Programme – This programme aims to educate and raise awareness among hoteliers, restaurateurs, staff, customers and stakeholders about the importance and benefits of purchase management and encourage them to adopt responsible purchase practices.
